I am going to keep this sweet and short and to the point since its early morning here.
Overstock.com sent Imani another mp3 player just like they said they would. I think it actually came sooner than I would have expected BUT I was happy none the less with how fast they were able to deliver on what we were told by Jason.
Well Imani was happy until she got ready to use it and it never turned on nor did it ever light up. It just remained this tiny little black box.
So by this time Mamma is a bit perturbed since I feel like something needs to be done now for my child who works hard for her money and now her face is so long I could have picked it up with a spatula. I felt so bad for her.
So I did what I could. I started singing like a canary on Twitter and Facebook about how the Memorex product sucks and how Overstock.com delivered BUT they sent another product that was no good. Mmmm ok so you know what I am thinking? I am thinking that are ALL their products like that? They look nice online and then the minute that you get what you paid for you find out that you have a lemon? I was really feeling that way and my next step was to just have them to send her money back.
Let me tell you what saved Overstock.com with me. The level of service and the quick response I got from their customer service. I got an almost immediate response from Overstock Social Media Customer Care team. Yeah you read right. Overstock.com gets it. They get the internet is ALIVE and that it breathes just like we do. It exists and we make it real with each keyword that we text, type, speak, and link to. They get that. I appreciate that they get it. Since Overstock.com gets it and got it and has people ON it I was able to be touched.
Let me explain that. The product sucked no doubt about it. The service didn't. The way I was communicated with was fast, caring and above all made easy for me.
After my last call with Joseph in customer care which I didn't have to call THEM he called ME, he explained to me that there were no more in stock of the Memorex Mp3 players but that he could offer me a comparable product if not better. He asked me to go online if I were near a computer and look at the offer to help me help my daughter.
This is what he suggested we try out for our trouble.

I told Joseph I was not planning on spending any more than what she had on a music player (since she did this without Mamma from the jump). He immediately assured me that we could work it out where for my trouble I would not be charged any more and that he would just have to talk this over quickly with someone else. He placed me on hold and then came back to tell me that he would have it sent out to me to have for her before the holiday!
I almost fell out of my chair in my office. What!? You mean I matter so much to you (Overstock.com) that you are willing to give me a product that is obviously NOT in the range of what Imani ordered if that means that I will be happy? At this point I wanted to climb through the phone and hug Joseph, and I wanted to climb on Twitter and smooch the Social Media Customer Care guy James I think. No no serious. See most companies nowadays think they don't have to do things like this. They know who they are. They believe they are doing us a favor and that they have the right to not stand by their product or service in anyway at all.
So no matter that the product they sold me didn't work nor did the replacement, the SERVICE is what I can say keeps me wanting to go to Overstock.com and offer them my hard earned cash again, you know give them another chance.
Ok ok ok enough already. I am going to have get off my soap box and get back to work.
Of course we will be keeping you posted because I have to send the two players that didn't work back and Overstock.com sent me the postage for that!
The O definitely gets my vote. Have I sold you yet to check em out? If you do that's great just know that there are real people over there and no I am NOT being being paid for this post. I just think people should know Overstock.com is off the chain when it comes to service and customer care.
